WHEREAS, Sections 7-148 and 7-152 of the Illinois Pension Code provide that disability benefits of an employee shall be reduced by the amount he is eligible to receive as a Social Security disability benefit, and

WHEREAS, there is a reduction of the Social Security disability benefit in those cases where Workmen’s Compensation benefits are being paid and the total of the two benefits exceeds 80% of the average monthly earnings, and

WHEREAS, such reduction of the Social Security disability benefit does not otherwise impair eligibility to said benefit, now therefore be it,

RESOLVED, that the IMRF disability benefit shall be reduced by the full awarded amount of the Social Security disability benefit, regardless of any reduction applied to the latter benefit because of the payment of Workmen’s Compensation benefits.
